Multi-Williams Multicade Arcade
SALE PRICING - NOW UNTIL Dec 15 2017
In the 1980's, there were 2 kinds of game configurations in the arcade: Horizontal and Vertical. What does this mean?
Game video monitors were slightly rectangular with a 4:3 aspect ratio This ratio was the same as CRT TV sets of this era as they used the same tube, but with different electronics. As such, some games were designed with the monitor in it's vertical orientation (meaning the smaller side on the top and bottom)... and some games designed in the horizontal orientation, like how a TV set was configured.
Games that were designed for one orientation do not work for the opposite configuration. Meaning, you cannot play pacman on a horizontal monitor, or Defender on a vertical orientation.
With that said, some games have been converted to work in either horizontal or vertical modes, but this is a limited case.
The Multi-Williams multicade arcade plays the classic horizontal games such as Joust,Robotron, Defender, StarGate.
