Williams (1994 DMD) No Fear Pinball
Steve Ritchie and Williams pinball go back a long way. His award winning designs include:
- Firepower (1980 Williams)
- Defender (Co-concept with E. Jarvis) (1980 Williams)
- Black Knight (1980 Williams)
- Hyperball (1981 Williams)
- Devastator (1983 Williams Video Game)
- High Speed (1985 Williams)
- F-14 Tomcat (1987 Williams)
- Black Knight 2000 (1989 Williams)
- Rollergames (1990 Williams)
- Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991 Williams)
- High Speed II - The Getaway (1992 Williams)
- Star Trek: The Next Generation (1993 Williams)
- No Fear: Dangerous Sports (1995 Williams)
No Fear: Dangerous Sports is his last design under the Williams brand before this legendary powerhouse brand went out of business. He of course re-surfaced later doing designs for Stern, but none of them are considered instant classics.
No Fear is considered by many as Steve Ritchie's combination of his greatest works. It has a similar layout and shots as Terminator 2 (which is a great game). It also has a version of magnetic accelerator adopted from High Speed II - The Getaway. There are some shots that are adopted from Black Knight 2000 and Star Trek - The Next Generation.
What's unique with No Fear is the sheer number of tight ramp and loop shots (9), the ultra fast game play, talking skull, rock music soundtrack and jump ramp. No Fear: Dangerous Sports is definitely exciting and challenging to play well.
Restoration
This No Fear was left alone in the dark for awhile, but that's good for you! The result is a well preserved original playfield and cabinet.
We fully disassembled this machine and worked on literally every part to bring this back to life.
- Every board was removed, re-soldered, repaired as necessary and tested. All wiring labeled and tested. CPU board is trouble free without any battery corrosion damage. Nice!!
- Each ramp removed, flame polished (including the subway ramp under the playfield), polished and repaired as necessary. The main ramp typically gets hairline cracks from the impact of the jump ramp and heat damage from the electro-magnet accelerators.
- Talking skull fully disassembled, re-aligned and new micro coil/sleeve assembly inserted. Custom red LED eyes and blue skull flashers used. It's awesome.
- Entire playfield stripped, detailed, waxed. No wear. No Fear!
- All new rubbers (white), including yellow ramp post rubber. You have to fully disassemble this machine to get to all the rubbers. Many people just do the ones you can see and reach with simple tools (not us).
- All optics cleaned and tested. This machine uses a lot of optical sensors.
- New coil sleeves on high wear items such as drop target and shooter/kickback.
- New shooter and kickback
- New No Fear button (with LED)
- New switch on drop target.
- Rebuilt coin door
- Full custom LEDs in backbox, playfield and front buttons. A MUST for this machine.
- New flippers, linkages, and all associated parts. Including the custom JUMP RAMP flipper. Most people ignore this.
- New slingshot plastics. All other plastics are excellent.
This machine is an awesome tandem to the Getaway. While they were both designed by Steve Ritchie, they play vastly different even though they share some of his typical layout traits. Buy them as a pair and save! Call us for details on a custom package.
This machine includes 90 day warranty (in-home in local region)
and is available for local or nationwide shipping.
